Rakibul Anwer

Bangladesh

Rakibul Anwar (b. 1993) is a visual artist based in Bangladesh. His work critically examines the impact of urban expansion on wetlands and agricultural landscapes, particularly how the construction of residential blocks is replacing vital ecological zones. Triggered by intensifying heatwaves, soil erosion in Dhaka, and recurring floods, his recent focus has expanded to Khulna’s wetlands—highlighting the increasing fragility of these environments amidst the climate crisis.
