He holds the esteemed position of Dean at the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, for a third consecutive term. Born in 1961, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1981 from the University of Dhaka and a Master's degree in Painting from Visva Bharati University, India, in 1985. Nisar Hossain is renowned for his mastery in Contemporary and Folk Painting of Bangladesh. His artistic endeavors challenge prevailing life and art constructs, sparking debates across mediums and inspiring introspection. With a keen social awareness, he captures the present time's essence, often focusing on environmental issues, gender dynamics, and anti-imperialist themes, gaining international recognition. A prolific author with 15 articles, he has exhibited worldwide, including Zimbabwe, India, Germany, and Bangladesh.
